M51 – Whirlpool Galaxy

No need to explain why M51 is known as the Whirlpool Galaxy.

The smaller galaxy to the top of the image is the NGC 5195. this is a dwarf galaxy that is interacting with the Whirlpool Galaxy.

Both galaxies are a mind boggling 25 million light years away !

With this image I tried stacking various timed exposures… although there is plenty more to learn and try on this target. Need to tease out a little more colour!
